A Practical Weekly Plan for BITSAT Preparation
A useful BITSAT timetable balances major science subjects with the shorter but important language and reasoning components.
A practical method you can use today
Monday and Thursday: mathematics problems and chemistry recall. Tuesday and Friday: physics concepts and calculations. Wednesday: English and logical reasoning with a short PCM review. Saturday: timed mixed paper. Sunday: audit errors and select next week’s topics.
Before beginning, select a measurable goal: for example, reduce incorrect answers in one clearly named concept, explain a passage more accurately, or complete a comparable timed set without sacrificing correctness. Write the goal down and review it after practice. This makes your next session more focused than choosing a random activity simply because it is available.
Example: put the method into practice
If a physics question gives speed 12 m/s for 5 seconds at constant speed, distance is 60 m. In your review, identify why the relationship s=vt applies and where acceleration would change it.
Try the approach without looking at an existing answer, then change one important condition or use a different question from the same concept. If the method stops working, locate the missing assumption and study that idea before repeating more questions. A useful explanation tells you why an answer follows, not merely which option was selected.
Mistakes to avoid
A timetable filled only with chapter reading creates an illusion of coverage. Include unseen objective questions and at least one timed mixed session.
Another trap is treating every incorrect response as the same type of error. A forgotten fact needs active recall; a flawed method needs a worked explanation; a rushed misread needs a deliberate checking routine. Choose the remedy that matches the underlying cause and record uncertain guesses even when the chosen option happens to be correct.
What to check after your next session
Record chapters attempted, new mistakes and question accuracy in a weekly scorecard.
Start with a manageable set, review it thoroughly and return to the concept after a delay. When accuracy on genuinely new material improves, progress to a wider mix of questions or greater time pressure. If it does not, revisit the prerequisite skill rather than simply attempting more of the same problems.
Practise what you learned
Use PrimePupil’s free question sets, random practice and mock tools to test understanding. The site expands its resources over time; available question coverage may vary by exam and chapter.
