How to Structure a 60-Day Exam Preparation Plan
A two-month plan should build foundational understanding before adding time pressure and full-test rehearsals.
A practical method you can use today
Days 1–15: map the syllabus and repair fundamental gaps. Days 16–30: complete chapter questions and reinforce weak definitions or formulas. Days 31–45: mix subjects and progressively shorten time limits. Days 46–60: alternate mock tests, review sessions and focused revision.
Before beginning, select a measurable goal: for example, reduce incorrect answers in one clearly named concept, explain a passage more accurately, or complete a comparable timed set without sacrificing correctness. Write the goal down and review it after practice. This makes your next session more focused than choosing a random activity simply because it is available.
Example: put the method into practice
A student weak in geometry can revisit triangle similarity, prove the ratios on paper and only then attempt timed numerical MCQs. This prevents fast guesses from masking missing fundamentals.
Try the approach without looking at an existing answer, then change one important condition or use a different question from the same concept. If the method stops working, locate the missing assumption and study that idea before repeating more questions. A useful explanation tells you why an answer follows, not merely which option was selected.
Mistakes to avoid
Do not assign equal study time to every chapter just because the timetable looks tidy. A mastered topic needs maintenance; a persistent weak topic needs diagnosis.
Another trap is treating every incorrect response as the same type of error. A forgotten fact needs active recall; a flawed method needs a worked explanation; a rushed misread needs a deliberate checking routine. Choose the remedy that matches the underlying cause and record uncertain guesses even when the chosen option happens to be correct.
What to check after your next session
Review progress every seven days, counting unseen-question accuracy and repeat mistakes rather than simply how many pages were covered.
Start with a manageable set, review it thoroughly and return to the concept after a delay. When accuracy on genuinely new material improves, progress to a wider mix of questions or greater time pressure. If it does not, revisit the prerequisite skill rather than simply attempting more of the same problems.
